News and Views - Ticehurst, Flimwell and Stonegate
Village Magazine
News and Views serves the villages of Ticehurst, Flimwell and Stonegate and was first published in 1978, The first edition was just a single A4 sheet of paper typed on both sides. The newsletter gradually grew in size along with the task of collating and stapling together of the copies. Eventually the pages were sent out to be printed and bound, in those days the magazine was put together by hand (no computer then), a mammoth task of cutting (with scissors) and pasting (with glue) after which it was taken to Kent County Council printing department to be printed. Happily we have moved on from there and in 2004/5 we moved into the 21st century and computerised the production. This means we can now receive editorial and advertising copy via email (a few more trees saved), advertiser forms are available on line and we can even receive payments direct to our bank account.News and Views donates all funds received (apart from printing costs) either from advertising or donations to local good causes and we are pleased to say that since 2003 more than £100,000 has been donated to the various causes in the area.News and Views is published ten times a year (we take a break in January and August). 700 copies are produced and distributed via the Village Store, Ticehurst and various other collection points throughout the villages. The magazine is produced by volunteers and editorial contributions and advertising are always welcome. Please send Editorial and advertising copy via email - addresses are on the relevant pages, or uploaded via the links on the relevant pages. If you do need to send paper copy please contact a member of the team by phone to make other arrangements.
